Victim charged in November hotel shooting
Milford police took custody of the alleged victim of a Howard Johnson shooting on Monday, Feb. 1, charging him with various drug offenses.
Police say Bryce Barnes, 22, of West Haven had been registered in a room at the hotel on Nov. 2, 2015 when Hassan Woods, 26, of New Haven and Taevon Alston, 27, of Bridgeport allegedly shot him in the buttocks during a robbery attempt.
The FBI task force, Statewide Narcotics Task Force and the Milford Police Department were able to secure a warrant for Barnes after a joint investigation.
Police say the following items were seized from Barnes’ hotel room during the investigation: 48.7 grams of marijuana, 2 bundles of heroin and 13 bundles of Oxycodone among other items.
Barnes is charged with possession of narcotics, possession with intent to sell, possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell and four counts of conspiracy.
Bond was set at $100,000 for court on Feb. 2.
