'Thirsty Man' arrested for second burglary attempt in downtown Milford

Milford police arrested a Bridgeport man for a second time last week, charging him for an attempted burglary after he threw a rock at the window of a downtown business on July 19.
Police say they responded to an alarm at a Bridgeport Avenue business and discovered the attempted burglary. During the investigation, police located David Lopez, 21, of Bridgeport in the Milford Center area and identified him as being responsible for the burglary attempt.
Police say Lopez admitted to breaking the front glass door of the business.
Lopez is accused of a similar incident from the previous day when he broke into Napoli Deli also located on Bridgeport Avenue. In both cases, police say that Lopez claimed to be thirsty.
Lopez is charged with third-degree criminal mischief and criminal attempted burglary.
He was held on a $25,000 bond at the time of his second arrest.
