Teen steals suitcase, leads police on chase

A Milford teenager was arrested after allegedly stealing a suitcase containing $1,200 of belongings and then leading police on a brief foot chase as they tried to apprehend her.

According to police, the incident took place at close to midnight Sept. 19 at 719 Boston Post Road, which is the address of Patriot Fuels.

Alyssa Scoop, 19, of 330 Merwin Avenue, is accused of taking the suitcase filled with the owner’s belongings valued at $1,200. When police responded to the area, Scoop ran and police had to chase and apprehend her, police said.

Scoop was charged with larceny 4th, conspiracy to commit larceny 4th and interfering with police. She was released from police custody on her promise to appear in court Oct. 13.
