Shoplifter reportedly threatened employee with knife

An alleged shoplifter was arrested at Macy’s Monday afternoon for reportedly threatening a loss prevention agent with a knife.
Police said they responded to Macy’s at the Westfield mall in Milford Monday at 4:15 p.m. Patrick Stavola, 28, was accused of taking $210 worth of merchandise from the store without paying for it. When confronted by a loss prevention agent, Stavola pulled out a knife and told the agent he would stab him, police said.
Officers found Stavola shortly thereafter fleeing the scene and placed him into police custody.
He was charged with robbery, threatening and larceny and he was held in police custody on a $75,000 bond.
