The Milford Police Department will participate in wave 48 of the Connecticut Department of Transportation High Visibility Seatbelt/Occupant Protection statewide campaign, which May 18 through May 31.
With the Memorial Day weekend approaching, Connecticut’s law enforcement agencies said they intend to promote safe driving and increase the protection of all motorists. Law enforcement officials are out on Connecticut’s roads enforcing the state occupancy laws and issuing citations to those who are unbuckled.
Milford police will be continuing their high visibility enforcement efforts regarding children restrained in child safety seats and seat belt usage among vehicle occupants. Police efforts will include safety checkpoints in various locations of the city, as well as educational material being available through the department’s Crime Prevention Unit.
