Police increase patrols after reports of indecent exposure
Milford police are ramping up patrols in the Westside of the city after a series of indecent exposure incidents were reported in recent weeks.
According to police officials, The Milford Police Department Special Investigations Unit is currently investigating three separate complaints that have occurred since late May.
The first incident occurred on Friday, May 24 near Milford Point Road and Honek Street with the second occurring on Saturday, May 25 in the area of Bridgeport Avenue near South Kerema Avenue.
The most recent incident occurred on Thursday, June 6 in the area of Naugatuck Avenue and Old Point Road.
Police say the suspect has been described as a black or Hispanic male between 5’ 9” and 6’1” in height, slim to medium build with short cropped black hair.
According to police, the suspect exposes himself to female victims while attempting to cover his face. The suspect does not attempt to have any contact with the victims in any manner.
Police says the suspect appears to use bushes as an area of concealment prior to the encounters. They say he has worn a dark hooded sweatshirt t in an effort to cover his face during these incidents.
