Police arrested a Milford man for allegedly asking a juvenile to get into his car.

Police said the incident took place near the intersection of Meadowside Road and DeMaio Drive on Dec. 27 at 1 p.m.

Thomas Stanton, 68, of DeMaio Drive, is accused of asking a juvenile to get into his vehicle as the juvenile was riding a bicycle. The juvenile fled the scene and went to a friend’s house and called 911. Investigation led to the arrest of Stanton, who was found a short while later and identified by the victim, police said.

Stanton was charged with breach of peace and risk of injury to a minor. His bond was set at $5,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 26.

An initial police report said the juvenile was a female, but a resident called the Mirror to say the juvenile who was approached was a 16-year-old boy.
