Milford police arrest knife-wielding robbery suspect at Walmart

Milford police arrested a Rhode Island man on Sunday, July 26 after they were notified of an armed robbery in the parking lot of Wal-Mart.
Police accuse Justin Carey, 22, of North Smithfield, RI of taking a jacket out of an unlocked vehicle and walking away with it. When approached and confronted by the owner of the jacket Carey brandished a knife and told the victim he would not give it back.
Police later located Carey inside of Wal-Mart and placed him under arrest. Police say Carey became combative with officers while being detained.
Carey is charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree threatening, sixth-degree larceny and resisting arrest. He was held on a $100,000 bond at the time of his arrest.
