A Milford man has been arrested and charged with stealing more than $20,000 worth of jewelry and other property from relatives.

The Milford Police Department investigated a complaint on Aug. 31 that led to the arrest of Kamil Zawisza, 29, of 31 Cindy Circle, Milford.

Police said Zawisza is accused of stealing more than $20,000 worth of jewelry and other items from family members over the course of two months. Some of the stolen property was recovered from area pawn shops, police said.

The investigation resulted in an arrest warrant being issued for Zawisza for larceny in the first degree. Zawisza was also arrested after he was confronted on Sept. 10 by an observant neighbor while he was in the process of burglarizing a detached garage of a family member’s home. Zawisza is also the suspect in several other crimes within the Milford area and several more arrests are expected soon, police said.
