Milford police arrested a Bridgeport man they say led them on a high speed chase June 2.

On June 2, detectives from the Milford Police Department’s Narcotics and Vice Unit were on anti-crime patrol in the area of the Super 8 Motel, 1015 Boston Post Road, where they tried to stop a vehicle because the driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.

During the motor vehicle stop, the driver sped off and struck two detectives with his motor vehicle, police said.

The vehicle engaged police in a pursuit onto I-95 southbound, where it was last seen in Stratford near exit 32.

Through investigation, detectives were able to identify the operator, Allen Boulware, 40, of 35 Terrace Circle, Bridgeport. Police arrested him in Bridgeport on June 3.

Police said that when he was located, Boulware had heroin in his possession and ingested some in an attempt to hide it from police.

Boulware was unable to post $150,000 bond and was arraigned in Milford Superior Court on June 7.

He is charged with the following: Assault on a police officer, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, no seatbelt, driving the wrong way on a divided highway, engaging police in a pursuit, failure to obey an officer’s signal, interfering with police, possession of narcotics, and destruction of evidence.
