Milford police arrested a Bridgeport man suspected of dealing drugs in Milford.

According to a police report, Haile Wilson, 26, of Bridgeport, was arrested on a warrant March 21, charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics within 1500 feet of school, reckless driving, failure to obey an officer’s signal, reckless endangerment, interfering with an officer and attempted assault on a police officer.

On Sept. 24, the Milford Police Department Narcotics Unit interrupted a hand-to-hand drug transaction involving Wilson near Bridgeport Avenue and Exit 34 of I-95, according to a police report.

As detectives approached, Wilson fled the scene in his vehicle at a recklessly high rate of speed, police said.

Detectives later located Wilson’s vehicle unoccupied in Bridgeport, and they were able to identify Wilson as the dealer and operator of the vehicle. Crack cocaine was located inside the vehicle with the assistance of Milford Police Department’s narcotics detection dog, Cedar.

Wilson was released on a promise to appear in court April 19.
