A Milford man was charged in regard to several cases of sexual assault on a juvenile when he was arrested Jan. 13.

Chad Withington, 39, of 128 Chapel Street, was already in custody on charges of sexual assault of a juvenile female when police served him with arrest warrants charging him with additional assaults.

According to a police report, on Nov. 18, the Milford Police Department received a report of an attempted sexual assault of a female juvenile victim that had taken place between 2014 and 2015.

The department’s Special Investigations Unit conducted an investigation and issued a warrant for Withington’s arrest on Nov. 19. Withington was taken into custody at his residence and has been held in the custody of the Department of Corrections since, police said.

The Special Investigations Unit continued to investigate circumstances involving Withington’s interactions with female juveniles and incidents from December 2014 through September 2015 and subsequently charged him with additional crimes, police said.

On Dec. 15, the Milford Superior Court issued arrest warrants for Withington on charges related to two additional cases, police said. On Jan. 13, Withington appeared at Milford Superior Court and was served on the arrest warrants on these cases.

Withington is charged with the following: Two counts of disorderly conduct; sexual assault in the 1st degree, and criminal attempt to commit sexual assault in the fourth degree.

He is scheduled to be in court Feb. 23.
