Internet helps police make prostitution arrests in Milford
“With advances in technology, classified advertising websites are being used by prostitution enterprises to conduct illegal activities with their clients,” Police Spokesman Jeff Nielsen said in a press release. “Based on these types of activities and complaints received by this department, the Milford Police Department Narcotics and Vice Unit recently conducted an undercover operation to address these issues.”
On Feb. 20 the Milford Police Department, with the assistance of the Stratford Police Department, conducted an undercover operation targeting prostitution in Milford.
The operation involved arrestees responding to a classified ad placed on the Internet, Nielsen said.
“The arrestees met with undercover detectives and offered them money in exchange for sexual activities,” according to Nielsen.
The following people were charged with patronizing a prostitute.
Kevin Gonzalez, 21, of West Haven; Steve Dudas, 58, of Fleming, N.J.; Stuart Allen, 50, of Easton; Michael Genovese, 44, of North Haven; George Giosmas, 57, of Shelton; Roland Bakhos, 32, of Bridgeport, and Ronald Osach, 65, of Woodbridge.
All of the arrestees were released on a promise to appear in Milford Superior Court March 18.
