Employee demands to work, gets arrested

A Boston Market employee was arrested July 4 after police say he showed up at the business with a knife, demanding to work.

Harold Smith, 44, of New Haven, reportedly went to Boston Market at 1460 Boston Post Road July 4 at about 9:30 a.m., waved a knife inside the building and demanded to work.

According to a police report, Smith is an employee, but he was not scheduled to work that day.

Smith was charged with breach of peace, reckless endangerment, interrupting an emergency call and criminal trespass.

He was released from police custody on his promise to appear in court Aug. 2.
