Police arrested a New Haven man on a warrant May 19 for allegedly stealing about $2,600 from the clothing store for which he worked.
Police said that Keith Evans, 26, of New Haven worked for Jos. A. Bank, a men’s clothing store at 1468 Boston Post Road. In April, store officials complained about an employee theft, and police investigators determined that Evans was making fraudulent merchandise returns and diverting the funds to his personal credit card. The returns totaled $2,616.36.
Evans was charged with larceny and was released from police custody on his promise to appear in court June 9.
