Two Bridgeport men were arrested Nov. 4 for allegedly leading police on a high speed chase.

According to a police report, the incident took place at 3:30 a.m. Nov. 4, when Milford police attempted to stop a vehicle that had left a Woodmont Road motel.

The vehicle took off at a high rate of speed on I-95 northbound towards New Haven, at which time Milford police stopped chasing the vehicle. A short while later the New Haven Police Department found the vehicle parked and the occupants a short distance away.

An investigation led to the arrests of David Dagley, 43, of Bridgeport, who was the driver of the vehicle, and Jacob Dagley, 46, also of Bridgeport, who was a passenger in the vehicle.

Crack cocaine was found in the vehicle, as well as a small amount of marijuana, police said. Further investigation showed Jacob Dagley to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Westport for failing to appear in court on motor vehicle charges.

David Dagley was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, reckless driving, running from police, carrying no motor vehicle insurance, possession of narcotics, conspiracy to commit possession of narcotics, possession of less than half ounce of marijuana and conspiracy to commit possession of less than half ounce of marijuana. He was held on a $10,000 bond.

Jacob Dagley was charged with possession of narcotics, conspiracy to commit possession of narcotics, possession of less than half ounce of marijuana, conspiracy to commit possession of less than half ounce of marijuana, interfering/resisting arrest, and failure to appear in court.

He was held in police custody on $35,000 bond.
