Milford's Beth Boyd earns doctorate

Dr. Beth Blaszczyk Boyd of Milford graduated with a doctorate in nursing practice from Quinnipiac University on Saturday, May 14.

Boyd earned a 4.0 GPA at the completion of her program. She is the recipient of the Nightingale Award for Excellence in Nursing and received the CLN Excellence in Nurse Education: Jane E. Murdock “Lifelong” Learning Leadership Award.

She recently published an article titled ‘Are You Demonstrating the Value of Caring?’ in the Journal of Christian Nursing.

Boyd is a certified nurse educator and also has a master’s of science degree in nursing with a focus in education. She is a certified instructor in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support.

She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor society of nursing and is the co-chair of the Healthcare Simulation Network of Connecticut.

Boyd is the director of the Nursing Simulation & Clinical Skills Laboratories at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield as well as a per diem nursing supervisor and educator at Milford Hospital.
