Milford resident turns 100 this month

Longtime Milford resident Evelyn Sidoti will be honored with a 100th birthday celebration at the Orange Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, where she lives now, on Sept. 23.

Mrs. Sidoti was born on Sept. 23, 1916, in New York, N.Y.  She moved to Milford in the 1960s and became a member of the parish of Saint Mary Roman Catholic Church.

“She served others with passion as a eucharistic minister, giving communion not just to those attending Mass but also to those unable to attend due to illness or injury,” said center officials. “She regularly led groups at local nursing homes in saying the rosary, and is very proud to have cooked for the priests and deacons at the church for many years.”

Her birthday celebration will be held at the center at 2 p.m. Sept. 23. The guest list includes Mrs. Sidoti’s family and friends, other facility residents, staff, and local and state politicians, including State Reps. Pam Staneski and Charles Ferraro.

Orange Rehabilitation and Health Care is a 60-bed skilled nursing center located on the Boston Post Road in Orange. It provides subacute rehabilitative and long-term care services, and has been family-owned and operated since its founding.
