Joyce Ruocco, a clerk in the Wastewater Division of the Department of Public Works, has been selected as October’s Employee of the Month in Milford.

After a review of all of the nominations, the selection committee unanimously chose her as the winner for her outstanding work performance, dedicated service to the city, and her professional and positive attitude.

Ruocco began her employment on Nov. 17, 2003, in the position of Clerk A with the city’s Department of Public Works. In August of 2005, she transferred to the Wastewater Division of Public Works.

Ruocco provides the quality and quantity of diverse services required of her position, city officials said in a press release.

“Her conscientious attention to each task she performs is evident day in and day out,” officials said. “She works seamlessly with co-workers and each city department addressing all inquiries coming into the office.”

Co-workers said she is always upbeat with a positive attitude.

“Joyce’s thoughtful demeanor extends beyond her employment responsibilities,” co-workers said. “She gives personal attention to any event occurring in the lives of her co-workers. Joyce is greatly appreciated as both a dedicated employee and co-worker. Joyce can be counted on to deal with each situation with poise, calm and, very often, humor.”
