Gail Evanko named city’s employee of the month

Gail Evanko, radio/materials dispatcher with the Public Works Department, has been named Milford’s Employee of the Month for October.

Evanko began her employment with the City of Milford as kennel keeper in the Animal Control Department on Nov. 6, 2007, and was promoted to assistant animal control officer on July 1, 2008. Then Evanko transferred to the sanitation department as a laborer where she worked until Jan. 23, 2012, after which she was promoted to radio/materials dispatcher. Evanko also fills in as weighmaster at the transfer station when needed.

“Gail performs her job professionally and maintains a calm and courteous manner when assisting residents with any issues they may have,” city officials said in a press release. “Gail is part of the glue that helps to keep the department together and, when needed, can be found working both day and night during severe weather-related events.”

“Gail embodies the spirit of teamwork and is not afraid of assuming additional responsibilities to assist fellow co-workers and the department overall,” her co-workers said. “Gail possesses the qualities necessary to provide knowledgeable customer service, which is appreciated by both residents and her co-workers alike.”
