Toni Weeks, paralegal with the Milford City Attorney’s office, was named the city’s employee of the month for August.

After a review of all of the nominations, the selection committee chose her as the winner for her incredible work ethic, stellar work performance, and teamwork, city officials said in a press release.

Weeks began her employment with the city on July 17, 2000, as a pension clerk. On June 2, 2001, she was promoted to her current position of paralegal due, in part, to her intelligence and exceptional organizational skills, city officials said.

Her responsibilities include drafting city ordinances; researching, organizing and coordinating legal data for union negotiations; assisting in real estate matters; and providing litigation support and trial preparation for all matters, including code enforcement, tax foreclosures, bankruptcies and land use.

She also works closely with the mayor in preparation of the monthly agenda regarding matters that need consideration by the Board of Aldermen.

Other departments often reach out to Weeks for assistance in deciphering and issuing administrative and legal documents. Weeks has willingly shared her organizational expertise with other departments to streamline their job responsibilities, city officials said.

“Toni’s outstanding work ethic and dedication are of the highest caliber,” states a press release issued by the city. “Her grace under pressure and resilience in the face of adversity is admirable and greatly appreciated.”
