Bridgeport Rescue Mission is preparing for their Great ThanksGiving Project where they plan to distribute turkeys, fixings bags and coats to 3,000 low-income and working-poor families in coastal Fairfield County. The Mission is in critical need of turkeys and coats to ensure they have enough for families in need this Thanksgiving. They need 3,000 turkeys and 15,000 coats.
“There’s a big job ahead of us and we can’t do it alone,” said Bridgeport Rescue Mission executive director Terry Wilcox. “Our greatest need right now is for frozen turkeys and winter coats for men, women and children. We’re putting out a plea, asking our community to join with us in making sure our hurting neighbors here in Bridgeport and South Norwalk enjoy a special Thanksgiving.”
