NORWALK — Wednesday marked the start of the first phase of the city’s reopening from the coronavirus pandemic.

Local restaurants can offer outdoor dining after they obtain city approval. Once approved, the restaurants must adhere to a strict set of guidelines to ensure social distancing and help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Restaurants must also close 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and by 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Some restaurants are also requiring patrons to make reservations or call ahead. Many restaurants are also continuing to offer takeout options.
