Boys & Girls Village recently was notified that it has received reaccreditation approval from the Council of Accreditation. Boys & Girls Village, with locations in Milford and Bridgeport, provides intensive behavioral health services for children and families. \u201cThis is a tremendous achievement that demonstrates an organization is recognized as a provider that continues to successfully implement high performance standards and, as such, is delivering the highest quality services to all of its stakeholders,\u201d officials said in a prepared press release. The accreditation council offers verification that organizations and programs qualify for the confidence and support of their stakeholders, officials said. The accreditation process involves a detailed review and analysis of an organization or program's administrative functions and service delivery practices. All are measured against international standards of best practice. These standards emphasize services that are accessible, appropriate, based in the community, coordinated, culturally competent and evidence-based. They also emphasize services that are individualized, outcomes-oriented, provided by a skilled and supported workforce, respectful of individual rights, strengths-based, supportive of partnership, child and family focused, treat all people with dignity, involve family and provider collaboration, and address child outcomes. The accreditation president and CEO offered his congratulations and acknowledgment for in a letter to Boys & Girls Village, stating, \u201cYou should all take enormous delight in continuing to be part of COA's Community of Excellence.\u201d According to Boys and Girls Village President\/CEO Steven M. Kant, \u201cAn incredible amount of preparation took place over a period of months by our organization and staff to prepare for the reaccreditation approval process.
