Milford’s Special Education Parent Teacher Organization (SEPTO) will present “Parents as Leaders: Supporting Your Child with a Learning Disability Workshop” Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. at the Margaret Egan Center.
The workshop will provide parents and caregivers of children with learning challenges with specific skills and ideas for supporting the success of their child at home and in school. Participants will learn techniques for communicating with children who learn differently by using visuals, non-verbal cues, and step by step instructions, as well as strategies for preventing and reducing difficult behaviors, anticipating problems, and reducing stress.
