Beth-El benefit gala

The ‘Light the Way’ Annual Spring Gala to benefit Beth-El Center homeless shelter and soup kitchen in Milford will take place on Saturday, June 2, from 6 to 10 p.m. The annual event will take place at the Mill River Country Club in Stratford and will include dinner, dancing and silent and live auctions. White elephant sale

The 61st Annual White Elephant Tag Sale in Milford, one of the largest in the area, will be held Saturday, June 2. Sponsored by the Plymouth Men's Club, the event will be held 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the grounds of the Plymouth Building of the First United Church of Christ (Congregational), 18 West Main Street. Donations of items for the sale are requested.  Household goods, small appliances, decorations, small furniture, toys, bikes, and jewelry, etc., will be received at the Plymouth Building (days and evenings) from Tuesday, May 29, through Friday, June 1. Proceeds will benefit Boy Scout Troop 1, the church and local charities. Trash and Treasures

The annual Trash and Treasures sale will be held at Mary Taylor Methodist Church, 168 Broad St., across from the Milford Green from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, June 1 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 2. It will run in conjunction with Mary Taylor’s 47th annual Fair on the Green.

Fair on the Green

The 47th annual Fair on the Green, sponsored by Mary Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church, will be held on Broad Street on June 1 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and June 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine.
More than 100 fine artists and crafters will display their handmade work on the green.
Admission is free.
The church will also have a giant Trash & Treasures tag sale in its basement as well as outdoor booths selling plants and baked goods. Food booths will sell breakfast sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, vegetarian burritos, funnel cakes and Mary Taylor’s signature recipe strawberry shortcake. There will also be free entertainment in the gazebo on the green throughout both days.

Touch a Truck

A fire truck, construction vehicles, bucket truck and more will be at this year’s Touch a Truck,  plus face painting, and a variety of food trucks and vendors, Sunday, June 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a quiet hour 11 a.m. to noon, at Eisenhower Park, North Street. Shuttles will be provided from designated parking areas. Cost is $5 per person online presale, $7 per person at entry. Children ages 2 and under are free (Some activities extra). Duck race

It's Back.....The Milford Harbor Duck Race. Adopt ducks online at milfordduckrace.com. The race will be Saturday, June 9, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Downtown Milford at Memorial Bridge. There are 80 prizes worth more than $7,000. Hosted by the United Way of Milford and the Woodruff Family YMCA.

Historical Society tag sale

Pirate Day

The 16th Annual Pirate’s Day will be Sunday, June 10, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pirate Day begins at 9 am at Lisman Landing, 37 Helwig Street, Milford CT for Pancakes With Pirates. Tickets for Pancakes with Pirates are $10. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit downtownmilfordct.com/piratesweekend. As for the general event, Captain Kidd and his crew will sail into Milford Harbor, 'kidnap' Mayor Blake and "take over" downtown Milford.  Come dressed as a pirate and be a part of Connecticut's best and largest scavenger hunt. Pick up your Pirate’s Day map at Lisman Landing until noon or at The DMBA Table on the Green.

Stratford Concert Band

The Stratford Community Concert Band will present two free concerts at the Paradise Green Gazebo in Stratford at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, and Tuesday, July 10. The rain date is two days later. Wayne Hiller is the conductor and musical director of the Band, now in it’s 56th year.   The Stratford Band will present original musical programs featuring familiar music arranged by Hiller. Golf Classic

St. Mary School Milford's 24th Annual Golf Classic is June 11 at The Mill River Country Club in Stratford. There will be golf, raffles, contests, lunch, dinner and more. Songwriter performs

Local Connecticut singer/songwriter Joe Neumann will be performing a free concert featuring his original song compositions from his life experiences at the Connecticut Post Mall at 1201 Boston Post Road in Milford, CT. on the weekends of June 16, 17, 23, 24 from 12 P.M. to 2 P.M. by the food court. Irish music session

Loretta Egan Murphy will join the P.V. O'Donnell Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann traditional Irish music session on Thursday, June 21, at St. Gabriel’s Parish Hall, 26 Broadway, 7:45 p.m. Admission is free. BYOB. Musicians, dancers, singers and guests are welcomed. Loretta plays the concertina and button accordion, has won numerous awards nationally, and has taught Irish music to hundreds of students in New York and Connecticut. The Downtown Milford Business Association Summer Cinema Series will take place at the Rotary Pavilion at Fowler Field in July and the first week of August. The event starts at 6 p.m. with food trucks available, and the movie starts at 8 p.m. People should bring blankets or beach chairs:
