Thursday art stroll features auction to benefit homeless shelter

The Third Thursday Art Stroll in Walnut Beach takes place on Thursday, Jan. 15 beginning at 7 p.m.

This month three of the businesses have connected and are having a silent auction to benefit the Beth-El Center, the homeless shelter located at 90 New Haven Avenue.

The theme of the items to be auctioned off is Hearts & Poe: Hearts for everyone to have an open heart to the plight of the hungry and the homeless and Poe for Edgar Allan Poe whose birthday is in January.

All of the entries were created by local artists and all of the proceeds will go directly to the center.

Wild Expressions will be hosting live music by Inner Groove. Smoke & Mirrors Parlor, the newest addition to the neighborhood, will be host an opening by a local artist who creates artwork made with clocks and clock parts.

The Artist's Collective (pop-up shop located in the SOBOBO Art Gallery Building), The Beach Gallery & Wild Expressions will all offer items to bid on as well as snacks to nibble on. For more information, call 203-882-9453.
