Successful gala raises funds for Beth-El homeless shelter

The Beth-El Center held its annual Spring Gala fundraiser at the Milford Yacht Club on Saturday, June 7. More than 140 people attended and all of the net proceeds will be used to support Beth-El's programs to assist the local homeless and hungry.

“I am so gratified by the continued support of the community to help Beth-El in its mission to provide shelter and food services to help those most vulnerable in our community,” said Toni Dolan, Beth-El executive director. “The Spring Gala is our biggest fundraiser and it provides the center with financial support that is necessary to maintain our quality services.”

The event, with FOX CT anchor Tim Lammers as master of ceremonies, featured a live auction conducted by Ed Davies, vice president of the Beth-El Board of Directors. Auction highlights included Tommy John pitching lessons, New York Giants tickets, Italian cooking lessons by Shoreline Chef Larry Landsberg, a FOX CT newsroom tour with breakfast with the morning anchors and a Long Island Sound sunset sail .
