The local YMCA will receive $250,000 in state funds to further ongoing improvements.
Representatives Kim Rose (D-Milford), Paul Davis (D-Milford, Orange, West Haven), James Maroney (D-Orange, Milford) and Senator Gayle S. Slossberg (D-Milford, Orange, West Haven, Woodbridge) announced approval of the funds last week.
“The Woodruff Family YMCA is an invaluable resource for our families and is in need of essential renovations to accommodate growing enrollment in its preschool program,” said Senator Gayle S. Slossberg. “We know that these programs make our children lifelong learners, and improve academic and life outcomes. Our children are the ones who stand to benefit most from these renovations.”
The bonding was approved by the State Bond Commission at their meeting on Friday, Feb. 28 in the Legislative Office Building in Hartford.
