Series of programs focus on women’s health
The physicians of Seaside OB/GYN of Milford and Milford Hospital are partnering throughout the month of November to host a series of women’s health and wellness workshops geared toward all stages of a woman’s life.
The workshops will be held weekly and are free and open to women of all ages. Also, Milford Hospital will present its Annual Women Living Well event.
The goal of the month-long event is to provide women with information regarding their reproductive health and overall well-being.
On Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 6:30 p.m., Dr. Kaytan Amrute will present a session titled Break Free from Pelvic Floor Disorders, designed to educate women on issues related to pelvic health including prolapse, incontinence and other disorders.
Milford Hospital’s Annual Women Living Well event will be Saturday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and is geared toward promoting positive energy and empowering women while addressing their physical and emotional well-being. The series will resume with the peri-menopause and menopause years, which often present a challenging time in a woman's life. On Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 6:30 p.m. Dr. Xiaolan Fei will discuss Menopause: To Be or Not To Be…. On Hormone Replacement Therapy.
Dr. Fei will provide information, answer questions and help navigate the rocky road of menopause. She will discuss how to decide whether or not hormone replacement therapy is an option for a woman in managing the symptoms of menopause.
Wrapping up the series, on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 6:30 p.m., Dr. Ann Marie Ricks will present a session titled What Can I Use Besides The Pill?....The Latest Options in Contraception and Family Planning.
Dr. Ricks invites women of all ages to learn information and ask questions concerning reproductive health and options for contraception.
All of the sessions in the Women’s Health Series are free of charge and will be held at Milford Hospital. Light refreshments will be served and all registrants who attend will receive a goodie bag.
