Registration open for summer program at Boys & Girls Club of Milford summer program

The Boys & Girls Club of Milford has opened registration for its summer program 2014.

The six-week program will be held at Simon Lake, 59 Devonshire Road.

Each week of the program will have a different theme: Sports Week, Hollywood Week, Friendship Week, Beach Week, Be Great Week, and Animal Week.

There will be weekly field trips — which includes visits to Mystic Aquarium, duckpin bowling, Southern Connecticut State University's Lyman Hall, Quassy Amusement Park, roller skating and more.

Youth ages 6-16 years old can participate in the summer program, being held July 7 to Aug. 15. The program will run Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The cost of the program is $150 for the entire summer — the program is limited to 150 participants.

In addition, a Junior Counselor Program for youth ages 15 to 18 will be taking place, teaching teens important job skills, how to build a resumé, how to dress for an interview, and how to maintain financial responsibility. The Junior Counselor Program participants will also be given minor responsibilities in the execution of the summer program.
