The special education network SEPTO will present “How can you help a family with a loved one who may have autism” on Oct. 30.

About 1 in 88 children are identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder, program organizers said. Autism occurs in all racial, ethnic, social and economic groups and it is almost five times more common among boys than girls.

On Wednesday, Oct. 30, Kevin Daly, health information specialist, will speak on topics that families and child care givers should know about autism: The signs to watch for; why early intervention is essential, and 10 ways to help a family affected by autism. The presentation will be held at the Margaret Egan Center beginning at 7 p.m.
