Paint the town purple Sept. 10 and help fight cancer
Help spread a message of hope. Join the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Milford and "Paint the Town Purple" on the weekend of Saturday, Sept. 10. Downtown Milford will display purple ribbons to promote cancer awareness.
Residents may purchase a purple mylar balloon to raise cancer awareness with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, which takes place at the Jonathan Law High School on Saturday, Sept.17.
Each balloon costs $5, paid in advance, and on Sept. 9, the balloons will be delivered to your home and tied to your mailbox.
“We want everyone to see purple and to think about celebrating, remembering and fighting back,” organizers said.
Individuals and local businesses are welcome and encouraged to participate by purchasing a balloon and decorating homes and storefronts with purple. For more information, contact Sue Federico at 203-980-4452,or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

At the Relay Sept. 17, individuals and teams — made up of family, friends, co-workers and community groups — will unite to fundraise, walk the track, socialize, take in the entertainment, and participate in a variety of activities going on throughout the night. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.
