More than 1,000 took annual Haunted Hike at Camp Katoya

On Friday, Oct. 23 and Saturday, Oct. 24, more than 1,000 Girl Scouts and their families and friends braved the Haunted Hike at Camp Katoya in Milford.

In its 21st year, the hike was designed and staffed by over 100 Girl Scouts and featured 20-minute hikes through the woods of the camp. The Haunted Hike is one of Girl Scouts of Connecticut’s most popular seasonal events.

“This year's haunted Hike was a great success. There were many new troops creating displays for the enjoyment of hikers and their families,” said Linda Bresky, Director of Outcomes Research and Evaluation. “While encouraging our girls to take on challenges and work towards goals, it’s also important to give them fun, enjoyable outdoor experiences that will help them become stronger problem solvers, better challenge seekers, and form a more positive sense of self. Our girls and their families always have a great time at this event.”
