Milford Rotary gives Boys & Girls Club $8,250 for teen center enhancements
The Milford Boys & Girls Club will be receiving an $8,250 grant from the Milford Rotary Club/Rotary International.
Rotary International is an international service organization whose purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
“The Milford Rotary Club and Rotary International are thrilled to contribute to the Boys & Girls Club Teen Center,” said Eric Tashlein, president of the Rotary Club of Milford. “Boys & Girls Club members are the future of Milford's great community, and the teen center will help them achieve their goals as they mature.”
With the grant, the teen center will receive a fresh coat of paint, new carpeting, new equipment (air hockey table, ping pong table, TVs), as well as new furniture. The upgrade will enhance the location, creating a more teen-focused and inviting space for the growing teen center programs, club officials said.
“The Boys & Girls Club would like to thank the Milford Rotary Club and Rotary International for this exceptional funding,” said Megan Altomare, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of Milford. “The Milford Boys & Girls club teen members will now have a fun, dedicated space where they can discuss action items and new programs they are helping institute.”
