Children’s Department
The children’s department at Milford Public Library, 57 New Haven Ave., is holding events the next few weeks. For information call: 203-783-3304.
Preschool story time — Mondays and Tuesdays at 10 a.m. Stories and a craft. For ages 3 and up with a caregiver.    
Toddler time — Every Wednesday at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. For ages 2 and under with a caregiver.
Summer preschool storytimes: Mondays July 13, 20, 27 and August 3. Tuesdays June 30, July 7, 14 ad 21.
Every hero has a story summer program: Come check out some books and pick up a calendar of library events.
Preschool story time — Mondays at 10am July 13, 20, 27 and August 3. Tuesdays at 10am July 14 ad 21. Stories, a craft and new friends. For ages 3 and up with a caregiver.
Stay and Play Thursday — July 9 and July 23 from 10am-12pm. Stop by the library and play board games, build with LEGOs, do a simple art activity or play floor puzzles. You can even share a book!
Chess club — Tuesday July 14 from 6pm-7pm. Players of all levels and all ages; instruction for beginners is available. Register, 203-783-3312.
Paws to Read — Saturday July 18 at 2:30pm. For children in grades K-5.
Music Together — Monday July 20 at 6:15pm. Experience the joy of family music with a free demonstration of the Music Together program. This is an opportunity for caregivers and children ages 0-5 to share music, instruments and movement together. Register or call the Children's Department at 203-783-3312.
Creative writing for tweens — Wednesday July 29 from 6pm-7:30pm. For 'tweens, ages 9-13. Call 203-783-3312 to register.
Creative dramatics — Thursday July 9 at 2pm for ages 5-9 and 3pm for ages 10 and up. Take this ancient Greek myth from the page to the stage. And make your own “Pandora's box.” Space is limited. Registration required.
Llamas — Saturday July 11 at 1pm. Learn about, pet and read with a real llama from Country Quilt Llama Farm in Cornwall.
Kung Fu Panda, movie — Monday July 13 at 2pm.
Family game night — Friday July 17 from 2pm-3:30pm for ages 5 and up. Headbandz, Clue Jr., Operation, Jenga, Guess Who?, Scrabble and more.
Science Tellers — Monday July 20 at 2pm for ages 5 and up. Wear your best, most creative superhero costume to solve this mystery.
Balloon a palooza — Wednesday July 22 from 6pm-7:30pm for ages 8-12. Budding scientists will be blown away by some super serious balloon experimenting. Register in the Children's Department or call 203-783-3312.
