The Milford Arts Council will present its last movie in its new 2014 Film Series leading up to its second Annual Red Carpet Gala on March 2.
The movie is It Happened One Night and will be shown on Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m.
Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert team up for laughs as mismatched lovers in this 1934 screwball comedy classic. Spoiled Ellie Andrews (Colbert) escapes from her millionaire father (Walter Connolly), who wants to stop her from marrying a worthless playboy.
En route to New York, Ellie gets involved with an out-of-work newsman, Peter Warne (Gable). When their bus breaks down, the bickering couple sets off on a madcap hitchhiking expedition.
Directed by Frank Capra, It Happened One Night was the first movie to be honored with all five major Oscars.
Suggested donation is $8. The movie will be shown at the Center for the Arts, 40 Railroad Avenue. For information call 203-878-6647 or go to milfordarts.org.
