The Holistic Moms Network will present The Great Unrecyclable Challenge in honor of Earth Day on Tuesday, April 7, at 6:30 p.m. at the Woodruff Family YMCA, 631 Orange Avenue.
The group says there is a website called Terracycle.com that tells people how to recycle items not accepted in city recycling collections.
At the April meeting, they will discuss ways to celebrate Earth Day with the family and will collect the following items:
• Energy Bar Wrappers, foil lined energy, protein or granola bar wrappers and all things Clif bar.
• Drink pouches, aluminum and plastic drink pouches.
• Baby food pouches.
• All things Brita — filters, filter packaging, bottles, etc.
• Personal care and beauty, including hair care, skin care and cosmetic packaging.
• Toms of Maine Natural Care toothbrushes, floss containers, toothpaste tubes and caps, deodorant containers and soap packaging from any manufacturer.
Residents can go to facebook.com/HMNNewHaven for more information.
“The best part about this, other than feeling great about your family helping to clean up the landfills, is that our organization collects money from the recycling and will donate it to a local charity. On collection day, we’ll have a list of charities on which you can vote.”
Holistic Moms Network is a non-profit support and discussion network that welcomes all people on the holistic path.
Meetings are the first Tuesday of each month, open to the public, and children are welcome.
