Harborlight Happening auction features 'Men Who Love to Cook'
Harborlight Happening is scheduled for Thursday, June 4 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Milford Yacht Club.
The fundraiser supports Kids Count of Milford's Preschool Scholarship Program. Each year, Kids Count provides scholarships to parents of three- and four-year-old children to attend Milford's private preschools.
Kids Count is currently providing 28 scholarships amounting to $30,000. There is an increase in requests for the next school year, according to Kids Count members.
Harborlight Happening is an evening where folks gather with family and friends for a dinner, silent and live auction.
This year, a highlight will be the return of the Men Who Love To Cook auction.
The men will visit the home of the highest bidder to prepare and serve dinner for family or friends. They will clean up, too.
This year the men will be Mayor Ben Blake, City Attorney Jonathan Berchem, Fire Chief Doug Edo, Dr. Andrew Carlson and Public Works Director Chris Saley.
Other items include dinner at Carmine's and a Broadway play of the winner’s choice, a two night stay in San Francisco, Yankee tickets, soccer tickets and golf tournament tickets.
Sponsors include The Milford Bank; Jody and Vince Culmone; Berchem, Moses & Devlin; John and Ann Doolittle; BIC Corporation; Connecticut Behavioral Health; Kiwanis Club of Milford; Junior Woman's Club; Kiddie Korner Nursery School; Milford Pediatric Group and the Milford Rotary Club.
