Golf tournament will benefit Boys & Girls Village

On June 2 Fairfield and New Haven County community members, business leaders and their guests will join together at Race Brook Country Club in Orange for a day of golf and festivities to benefit the Boys & Girls Village.

The 39th Annual Dan & Yolanda Adley Memorial Golf Tournament includes 18-hole golf, lunch, player gifts and prizes, and a dinner reception with a live auction.

Honorary Title Sponsor is in Memory of Ralph A. Carloni, courtesy of a special donation from the Village Foundation. One skilled and lucky golfer may also take home a brand new vehicle, courtesy of this year’s Hole-in-One Sponsor Brandfon Honda.

For 71 years, Boys & Girls Village has been one of Connecticut’s leading caregiver for families and children struggling with significant emotional, behavioral and psychiatric disorders, permanency placement and foster care needs, and special education needs.

Just last year, Boys & Girls Village touched the lives of 5,000 Connecticut children and families, from 50 different Connecticut communities, providing a wide range of family-centered services and evidenced-based treatment approaches that helped children heal, learn and grow.

The Adley family continues to be a source of caring guidance for the mission of the Boys & Girls Village: Helping at-risk children and families succeed in life. Four generations of the Adley family have been involved with the agency, carrying on the legacy of Dan and Yolanda.

Dan and Yolanda Adley’s dedication has been key to the foundation and continued success of Boys & Girls Village. An orphan at age nine, Dan Adley spent many of his early years in institutions, separated from two brothers and one sister. In his later teens, he successfully reunited himself with his family. He also was an accomplished businessman, establishing the Adley Express Company, one of the largest trucking firms in the eastern United States. When his means permitted, Adley resolved to work on behalf of orphaned, abandoned, troubled and abused children, providing them with the opportunities that he didn’t have as a child.

This annual golf tournament honors the Adley family’s hard work and dedication. All of the net proceeds from the event help to ensure that Boys & Girls Village will continue to serve at-risk children in Connecticut.
