The Storehouse Food Pantry at Cornerstone Christian Church is serving the community this Thanksgiving.

Last weekend they assembled more than 650 baskets filled with a turkey, stuffing, vegetables and additional trimmings to be donated to area families who have requested their assistance.

“Thanksgiving is all about giving and sharing what we have with others in need,” said Joan Peret, the pantry’s director. “Our team is eager to be a blessing to so many families this year.”

The baskets were scheduled to be distributed on Monday, Nov. 24 at Cornerstone Christian Center.

The Storehouse Food Pantry provides groceries for more than 40 families in Milford and from all over New Haven and Bridgeport counties each week.

The pantry receives donations from the Connecticut Food Bank as well as local grocery stores and food drives.

Families in need of assistance are encouraged to call 203-683-4840 on Mondays between 4 and 8 p.m. or Thursdays between 1 and 5 p.m. to schedule an appointment.
