Eastbound holds play auditions this month

Auditions will be held for the next Eastbound Theatre play on July 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Milford Center for the Arts, 40 Railroad Avenue South in Milford.

Interested actors unable to attend should contact the producer, Ann Baker, at abaker0728@gmail.com to set up an alternate time.

Actors should prepare a short, contemporary comedic monologue of one to two minutes. Actors who are not prepared with a monologue will have sides available to them. To review sides in advance contact the producer.

All actors should bring a current headshot or recent photo and acting resume.

The play centers around Heidi Bishop, a young, idealistic girl working for a theatre company somewhere in New England. She is partnered with the cynical Jim Foley to read and respond to the flood of scripts competing for production. Jim has been burned out by an endless barrage of bad writing. As he rants about creativity and his bleak vision for the future of theatre in general, Heidi does her best to stay positive. But she finds her artistic integrity at odds with both a dwindling audience and the political power struggles of the business world.

Roles available:

Heidi Bishop: Approximately 25 years old.

Jim Foley: Approximately 40 years old.

Mike Braschi: Approximately 35 years old. He is the typical ambitious, opportunistic theatre manager who only sees his current position as a step to something better.

Tina Fike: Approximately Late 40s to early 60s. She commands a room. She's a famous feminist playwright who appreciates those who support her but has little patience for anyone who doesn't.
