Dress the part for upcoming Winter Sprinter

Residents are invited to run or walk in the Winter Sprinter to benefit the Literacy Volunteers of Southern Connecticut.

The run will be held in Downtown Milford on Sunday, Dec. 4. It will convene at the Parsons Gymnasium from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. for registration.

The timed three-mile challenge will begin at 11:15 a.m. and end at the Parsons Auditorium in a grand finale filled with awards for runners and walkers for fastest, best costume and many more.

There will also be a one-mile challenge for people to participate in at 11 a.m.

The registration fee is $30. The course is mostly flat with two small hills.

In addition to Santa, there will be holiday music, candy and cookies.

The race is rain or shine. There are no refunds. Participants are invited to dress in costume.

Children under 5 are free. Every participant will receive a goodie bag.

Also, the Milford Fire Department will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for this year’s Toys for Tots campaign.
