Coastal Chordsmen will perform at state naturalization ceremony
The Coastal Chordsmen A Cappella Chorus has been invited to perform at a special naturalization ceremony honoring over 20 people as they officially become U.S. citizens Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Connecticut's Old State House in Hartford.
The program will begin at 10:30 a.m., in the state landmark's historic courtroom.
The Coastal Chordsmen Chorus, a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, has been performing throughout the northeast for the last 67 years. While this is the group's first appearance at this famous historical site, the Chordsmen are not strangers to well-known venues, having performed at venues including the Connecticut Governor's Mansion in Hartford and Carnegie Hall in New York City.
For the past five years the chorus has been a featured performer at the Connecticut Day festivities at The Big E exposition in West Springfield, Mass.
December 1 marks the beginning of the traditional holiday performance season for the Coastal Chordsmen. In addition to their long standing tradition of bringing holiday cheer to patients in various hospitals and rehabilitation centers and to residents of nursing homes and assisted living facilities throughout the region, the Chordsmen will also be performing in concert at various locations throughout the area, including Stratford, Milford and Trumbull.
