Church clothing shop celebrates two year anniversary
The Kid’s Clothing Corner at The United Church of Christ in Devon, 30 Ormond Street, has been open the first Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon for two years.
“This is the two year anniversary of this wonderful success story,” church officials said. “It’s a success story not only for the church, but also for the community.”
The shop sells children’s clothing, shoes, boots, seasonal clothing and items. Also, there is often a variety of baby equipment, toys and books. All of the items are gently used and sometimes new.
The Kid’s Clothing Corner also makes donations to families that are in need.
Anyone may donate by bringing items in on Sundays or the first Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon when The Kid’s Clothing Corner is open.
The money earned at is used for the church’s charitable outreach programs.
Midge Reidenbach and Susan Fry are the primary volunteers in the church shop. Other volunteers are Jennifer LaLond, Lisa and Nora Turner.
Maria Lockhart helped the Kid’s Clothing Corner get its start before moving to Virginia.
Volunteers are always needed to sort donations. If anyone would like to volunteer they may contact Susan Fry or Midge Reidenbach through the church at 203-878-4685.
