The Milford Hospital Auxiliary’s Celebration of Trees is one of the premier events in Milford and one well worth attending for a number of reasons.

This holiday event offers residents a way to get into the holiday spirit, relax and meander among some beautifully decorated trees, and help the community hospital at the same time.

The Celebration of Trees started years ago at the Milford Fine Arts Council, where it was an immediate hit, raising about $20,000 that first year for the hospital auxiliary.

Later, the show moved to the hospital, set up on the upper- and lower-level lobbies, where it takes place now. Over the past 16 years, the Celebration of Trees has grown to become a cherished holiday tradition for the people of Milford and surrounding communities.

The Celebration of Trees will take place during the 10-day period from Saturday, Nov. 30, through Monday, Dec. 9.

It is the largest special event fund-raiser benefiting Milford Hospital.

More than 3,000 visitors annually stroll through the Milford Hospital lobby and balcony areas to view the themed trees, gift baskets, displays, and other items, which transform the hospital into a holiday wonderland. Visitors may purchase raffle tickets for $2 and take a chance on winning one of the raffle items.

The drawing will take place on Monday, Dec. 9, at 4.

Hundreds of volunteers, sponsors and donors give of their time and talent to bring the holiday spirit to Milford Hospital.

In addition to the displayed items and raffle, highlights of the Celebration of Trees include the following activities and entertainment:
