The Junior Woman's Club of Milford sponsored its 29th annual city wide spelling bee for 5th and 6th graders on Friday, March 1, at City Hall. Dr. Elizabeth Feser served as bee master, with Library Director Jean Tsang and Board of Education member Susan Glennon serving as judges. The participants included students from all schools in Milford. The winners were as follows: Kruttika Gopal from Harborside Middle School placed first. Sumanth Kondapalli from Harborside came in second, and Hasher Mirza from West Shore Middle School came in third. Participants were: Dylan Kyek, Nicholas Porrello, Jimi Wright, Jaelyn Roth, Sumanth Kondapalli, Kruttika Gopal, Zoe O'Neil, Shreya Simhadri, Amogh Krishna, Victoria Anton, Cole Zamora, Shawn Bombardier, Gabriel Quinn, Courtney Olenski, Manci Gandi, Brandon Allen, Julia Palmeiri and Hasher Mirza. The top two winners will compete in the Connecticut Junior Woman's spelling bee in May.
