Getting your food to go at some Connecticut McDonald’s restaurants is taking on a new meaning as 53 of the chain’s fast-food locations, including Milford, Orange and West Haven, are now partnering with the UberEats delivery service. Terms of the deal weren’t released, including whether any money was changing hands between the two partners as a result of the deal. Including Milford, Orange and West Haven, the other McDonald’s locations participating in the partnership with UberEats are in the New Haven area: Branford, Derby, East Haven, Hamden, New Haven, North Haven, North Branford and Seymour. McDonald’s orders can be placed on the UberEats mobile app or website, using the same account used to take orders for rides. An UberEATS booking fee applies to each order. Scott Taylor, president of the Connecticut and Western Massachusetts McDonald’s Owner/Operator Association, said the partnership is the result of feedback in which consumers told restaurant owners “that they enjoy experiencing McDonald’s in new ways.” The partnership is being rolled out in multiple phases until all Connecticut McDonald’s restaurants offer the service, according to Adrianna Bigard, a spokeswoman for the chain’s regional owners’ group. Casey Verkemp, UberEATS Connecticut general manager, said those who use the delivery service frequently asked about delivery of McDonald’s food before the partnership was developed.
