Mayor Ben Blake and School Supt. Dr. Elizabeth Feser are among local celebrities who will hit the court November 8 to battle the Harlem Wizards. The Devon Rotary Club will host the Mighty Milford Hoopsters versus the Harlem Wizards, sponsored by Milford Bank, on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Jonathan Law High School in the main gymnasium. In addition to Blake and Feser, a host of school and city officials will battle the Wizards. They include local business leaders, Attorney David Slossberg, team manager; Ric Biroscak of The Milford Bank; Cory King of Schick Wilkinson Sword, and Alyssa Puccilli of Albertus Magnus College. Milford Police Detective Sgt. Tony Vitti will be on the team, as well as other members of the police department. They include Steve Wydra, a retired sergeant; Officers Dave Pecoraro and Joe Destefano; Detectives Tyrone Dancy and Jeff Cortez; Lt. Bill Cable and Captain Ken Rahn. From the schools there will be, in addition to Dr. Feser, Principal Amy Fedigan from Calf Pen Meadow; Principal Vince Scarpetti from West Shore; East Shore teachers Mike Marchetti, Mollie Rascoll, Susan Teahan and Marlene Sanchez; Meadowside teachers Jason Cicero\u00a0 and Zachary Munroe, and St. Gabriel teachers John Campbell and Becky Bok. They will be joined by Adam Rivers, a DJ for KC101. For the Harlem Wizards, there will be Road Manager David \u201cDP\u2019 Paul, Claude \u201cTojo\u201d Henderson, Rashaan \u201cRocket\u201d Barner, \u201cKing Arthur\u201d Lewis Jr., Dexton \u201cAir Jamaica\u201d Williamson, Rob \u201cMr. X-Citement\u201d Young, and Steven \u201cHighlight\u201d Harris Jr. The event is a fundraiser for the Devon Rotary Club. Proceeds benefit the organization\u2019s charitable trust foundation that distributes over $25,000 in annual scholarships to local students. Tickets can be purchased online at harlemwizards.com in advance for $12 for students and $14 for adults. Tickets at the door will be $2 more, if available. Other ticket options include reserved seating (front row center court) for $20, courtside tickets for $25, which includes a one-on-one meeting with The Wizards one hour prior to the game. The first 100 tickets sold will be entered into a drawing to win courtside tickets and there will be a drawing for parents to play in the game \u2014 $1 for each entry. Refreshments and souvenirs will be sold at the game and there will be a free autograph session with the Wizards immediately following the game.
