Mary Ann Emswiler, co-founder of The Cove Center for Grieving Children, will present a free workshop for the community entitled Guiding Your Child Through Grief., Thursday, Jan 23 at 7 p.m. at Amity High School, 25 Newton Road, Woodbridge. "Is it grief\u2026or is it adolescence?" This is a common question for adults caring for a grieving teen. This presentation will focus on the typical grief reactions and challenges of grieving teens, the ways in which the life stage of adolescence itself complicates grief for young people, and what adults can do to nurture grieving teens toward healing. Parent, caregivers, professionals and other caring adults are welcome to attend. Mary Ann Emswiler is a licensed professional counselor, author and stepparent of three grieving children, and co-founder of The Cove Center for Grieving Children.
